Our outstanding waterways meander across four hundred and seventy five acres of the Westover property and offer three sections of incredible trout fishing, including the natural spring branch, babbling meadow brooks and the gentle Dry Creek. We also have several ponds that support warm water species like bass and bluegill.
If you are searching for trout, look no further. You will find trophy rainbows and browns. These spring-fed waters remain cold year-round. Since we limit the number of anglers on the stream, you’ll find yourself fishing in peaceful seclusion, fishing at your leisure. Most of our waters are catch and release, allowing us to continue to develop our wild trophy trout. We also offer catch and keep in certain areas on Dry Creek. With the diversity our waters have to offer, we can challenge the most seasoned angler while still providing the beginner a perfect opportunity for that first trout!
If you prefer fishing for warm water species, try your luck in one of our ponds, which are teaming with bass, bluegill and yellow perch (just to name a few). For many, there is nothing more exciting than catching a bluegill on a fly rod – they are, pound for pound, the hardest fighting fish out there! Bluegill are also very forgiving fish and provide excellent targets for children and beginners. If you’ve never caught a bass on a fly rod, you are truly missing out. Once you’ve had a two or three pound bass ruthlessly ambush your #4 dry fly, you will find yourself going back again and again!
Guided Fishing
Our guides know our waters better than anyone, and will do their best to ensure that you have a fun, safe and educational outing. For even more adventure, the guides can also take you off the property to explore other excellent local fishing opportunities.
If you have a group that would like to experience the fishing that Westover has to offer, we can accommodate both large and small groups. Just call ahead to schedule your outing and the guides will be awaiting your arrival. Guided trip rates include all necessary equipment for the day. Whether you need one hour or one day, our instructors will cater to you specific needs. Call today to discuss and arrange the perfect lesson for you.
Unguided Fishing
Although we do require reservations in order to properly manage stream traffic, guests of Westover Farms are more than welcome to fish our waters without a guide. Bring your own tackle or take advantage of the rental gear available at our fly shop. We can set you up with all of the necessities for a productive day on the water. Be sure to ask one of our professionals about our daily hatch or just to recommend the flies that will guarantee the day’s largest catch.
